Jana Kerima Stolzer & Lex Rütten

EXHIBITION VENUE: RHEINISCHES LANDESMUSEUM (10)

Jana Kerima Stolzer and Lex Rütten have been working together as an artist duo since 2016. Both studied at Kunstakademie Münster, where Jana Kerima Stolzer graduated as Meisterschülerin of Aernout Mik. Lex Rütten transferred to Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and graduated as Meisterschüler of Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster. Their multimedia installations engage with a technological environment that shapes not only humans but also flora and fauna. Their narratives combine historical and scientific research with science fiction in order to imagine the (im)possible futures. In 2023, the duo opened their first institutional solo exhibition at Hartware MedienKunstVerein in Dortmund. At Loop Alt Space, they had their first solo exhibition in Seoul (KR) in 2024. Their works operate at the intersection of theatre and exhibition contexts.

Connection to Rhineland-Palatinate

Jana Kerima Stolzer was born in Kandel (RLP) and grew up in Maximiliansau am Rhein. The duo enjoys hiking in the Pfälzer Wald, whose flora and fauna continuously surprise and represent the essence of vitality. Part of their family still lives in the Landkreis Germersheim.
