Juan Bermúdez – born 1994 in Bogotá, is a multidisciplinary artist living in the Rhine-Main region. He studied music engineering at Javeriana University Bogotá and sound art composition (M.A.) at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz, where he is currently a Meisterschüler. Important exhibitions include Klangkunst in Industriekultur 2025 (Wasserturm Mühlheim am Main), SCHAUSAMMLUNG2024 (LTK4, Cologne), Sounds like …? looks like …? (Kunsthaus Wiesbaden), Next_generation X (ZKM Karlsruhe), Open Space (SÍM, Reykjavik), OPENING 21 (Karl-Marx-Haus Trier), and Auris Mundus, Mundos Auriculares (Espacio Odeón, Bogotá). He has received numerous scholarships and awards, including the conceptual funding of the Wiesbaden Cultural Office (2025–2026), the Schleswig-Holstein Artists’ House scholarship (2025), the SIM Residency Reykjavík (2023), the Deutschlandstipendium, and the DAAD-Colfuturo scholarship.
