Madeleine Dietz – born 1953 in Mannheim, 3 children. 1969-73 Studies at the Werkkunstschule in Mannheim (book graphics and book illustration). 1986 first video works, performances, spatial installations – 1992: Daniel-Henry-Kahnweiler Prize for sculpture and plastics – 1993: Conception and organization of Kirchgänge in 11 churches in Landau – 1996: Paris, Cité Internationale des Arts, scholarship – 1997: Florence, Villa Romana, guest scholarship – 1998: Houston, Texas, USA, working scholarship – 1999/2000: teaching assignment HBK Saarbrücken – 2003: Hamburg, Ernst-Barlach Prize – 2004: Mannheim, Kunstpreis Pflege (video); Barcelona workshop stay, etching workshop Tristán Barbara – 2013: Kulturpreis Kunst+Ethos, Regensburg, Verlag Schnell&Steiner – 2024: Pfalzpreis for lifetime achievement. Member of Deutscher Künstlerbund. The artist lives in Landau-Godramstein/Pfalz.
