nachtschwärmerfilm stands for documentary cinema rooted in real life and combines political and social relevance with a modern, clear visual language.
Michael Schwarz – born 1979. Studied at the Film class of Kunsthochschule Mainz, diploma, Meisterschüler. Michael Schwarz is responsible for story development and directing and shares production duties with Alexander Griesser – born 1978, MA in Film Studies, Journalism, and Political Science, who is in charge of cinematography. Since 2007, numerous short films have been produced, including DOLCE VITA (2008), KURSDORF (2011), and PETER RIST, IDEALIST (2013). With their first feature film DIE KANDIDATEN, the duo made their cinema debut in 2019. nachtschwärmerfilme have received multiple awards and have been presented at over 200 national and international festivals; seven productions were awarded ratings by the Deutsche Film- und Medienbewertung (FBW).
